About Me

Hey! I’m Matilda—a 17-year-old with a big smile, bigger attitude, and even bigger stories to tell.

I live life from my wheelchair & chat with the world using my eye-gaze AAC device. I use my eye-gaze device not just to communicate but also to DM friends on Instagram, download books, play Candy Crush, check out YouTube and order some UberEats on the side.

I was born with Cerebral Palsy Quadriplegia with Dyskinetic and Ataxic movement which means my body likes to do its own thing, but that hasn’t stopped me from doing my thing—including modified skateboarding, assisted surfing, and chasing adventure wherever I can find it (preferably with wheels or waves).

I’m a proud disability and accessibility advocate who loves public speaking, breaking down stereotypes, and showing the world that communication comes in many forms—and that living with a disability doesn’t mean living without fun, ambition, or impact.

Hey OTs, speechies, physios, teachers, support workers, students, curious humans—and anyone who’s ever asked,

“So how does that AAC thing actually work?”—come see disability and communication through my eyes (literally, I use eye-gaze!).

I bring the real-life scoop on living with Cerebral Palsy, using eye-gaze tech to communicate, and navigating the world with humour, honesty, and heart.

I love presenting and would love to bring my story to your clinic, team, or event. Let’s make accessibility real, relatable, and a little bit fun!
